Triangle - Astérides
Triangle - Astérides is a 27 years old non-profit contemporary visual art organization based in “Friche la Belle de Mai”, a former tobacco factory in the center of Marseille, where it supports artists and serves diverse and expanding audiences. Triangle - Astérides develops a yearly program of exhibitions, public events, and new commissions, as well as highly respected residencies and studio programs dedicated to Marseille-based, French, and international artists; supporting artistic research, experimentation, and production.
MUCEM
Suspended between the sky and the water, floating at the entrance to Marseille's Vieux Port, the Mucem (Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilizations) takes advantage of two new footbridges. Thanks to its position overlooking the open sea, this museum has been a major project for the Mediterranean, uniting its two shores.

Proceed to L'Arlatan Hotel in the Old Town of Arles, designed by Cuban American artist Jorge Pardo.
Fondation Vincent van Gogh
The Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles aims to showcase and promote van Gogh’s artistic heritage while also asking questions about the resonance of his oeuvre in art today. By presenting the painting of van Gogh in the context of works by contemporary artists, it seeks to stimulate a fruitful dialogue centered on interrogation and reflection. Original works of Van Gogh are presented as well as those of contemporary artists paying tribute to the Dutch master, through temporary exhibitions renewed once or twice a year.
La Cité Radieuse
The Unité d’Habitation is a modernist residential housing design principle developed by Le Corbusier, with the collaboration of painter-architect Nadir Afonso. The concept formed the basis of several housing developments designed by him throughout Europe with this name. The most famous of these developments is located in the southern part of Marseille and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016.
L'Arlatan
As early as the Middle Ages L’Arlatan was recognized as being Arles’ most lavish hôtel particulier - a grand townhouse - and now, thanks to the exceptional vision of artist Jorge Pardo, it is making an outstanding début on the modern stage. A gigantic 6000 square meters of mosaic now adorns the hotel with an explosion of color, light and contemporary design.

Arles
Roman treasures, shady squares and plenty of Camarguais culture make Arles a seductive steppingstone into the Camargue. And if its colourful sun-baked houses evoke a sense of déjà vu, it’s because you’ve seen them already on a Van Gogh canvas – the artist painted 200-odd works around town, though sadly his famous little ‘yellow house’ at 2 place Lamartine, which he painted in 1888, was destroyed during WWII.
LUMA
LUMA Arles, which launched formally in 2014, is dedicated to providing artists with opportunities to experiment in the production of new work through interdisciplinary collaboration. The conceptualization of its mission, and the initial programming, has been spearheaded by Maja Hoffmann. LUMA Arles is an institution dedicated to providing artists with opportunities to experiment in the production and presentation of new work in close collaboration with other artists, curators, scientists, innovators and audiences.

Fondation Eschaton
The mission of Eschaton—Anselm Kiefer Foundation is to advance the artistic legacy of its founder, Anselm Kiefer, by maintaining and cataloguing his archive and by preserving La Ribaute, his studio-estate in Barjac, France, for future generations. Eschaton fosters the appreciation and understanding of contemporary art by organizing and supporting exhibitions, facilitating research and publication projects, and by presenting Kiefer’s artworks as well as works by other artists to the public at La Ribaute. The Foundation’s name, Eschaton, refers to life’s cyclical nature and the concept that creation and rebirth arise from ruins and are enabled through demise and destruction, a significant leitmotif in Anselm Kiefer’s artistic practice.

When Château La Coste opened, renowned artists and architects were encouraged to come and design permanent installations in places around the grounds that they loved, and the results are spectacular. The tour is open every day and you can walk around the trail admiring the works of art. Louise Bourgeois’ ‘Crouching Spider’ is the first thing you see upon arrival, and there are permanent works here by, among others, Tracey Emin, Tadao Ando and Frank Gehry.

The tour is open every day and you can walk around the trail admiring the works of art. Louise Bourgeois’ ‘Crouching Spider’ is the first thing you see upon arrival, and there are permanent works here by, among others, Tracey Emin, Tadao Ando and Frank Gehry.

Commanderie de Peyrassol
Philippe Austruy, a wine lover and a nomadic collector, has turned La Commanderie de Peyrassol into one of the largest open-air collections in Europe. In the middle of the vineyards, dotted around the woods and in dedicated spaces for the most delicate pieces, visitors will discover works of art by Daniel Buren, Niki de Saint Phalle, Dan Graham, Carsten Höller, Bertrand Lavier, Richard Long, Ugo Rondinone, Lee Ufan, Victor Vasarely, Joana Vasconcelos and Bernar Venet. These masterpieces interact with the idyllic landscape and awaken in the visitor the pleasure of discovering contemporary art.
